Peek Inside

                                                                     Synopsis/ Peek inside
Those who have not read the book Wuthering Heights by Emily Brontë would consider it a tragic love story, but after reading the story, the reader comes to realise it is truly about revenge. Wuthering Heights follows Heathcliff (a young gypsy-like boy) from the time Mr. Earnshaw found him, right to his death in his late thirties. Heathcliff gains status in his newfound family until suddenly he is deemed a servant after the late owner’s son gains control of the estate. Heathcliff is then faced with the problems that social class causes and decides to run away when the love of his life (Catherine) decides to marry someone else. He returns to Wuthering Heights later with a newfound fortune and education hoping to exact his revenge on the families he believes ruined his life.      -Tristine
